What the hell is ‘Miss Brooke’ all about? Well……….. I worked in advertising for over 20 years. Capt’n Snooze (now Snooze) was my primary client. Over 3 advertising agencies, I went with Capt’n Snooze - I was the ‘must have’ in an Agency pitch.

Why? I was fun, and energetic, knew the business, and was eager to take on everything. I’d initially started from reception and was grateful for any advancements.

Along the way, there have been a number of assistants. One called me ‘Miss Brooke’ and there it was and it stuck. Yes, I was brash, hard, and caring but I taught them lessons that would take them to even higher positions such as mine that I cannot place on my resume. #howgoodisthat #sodamnproud #jobisdone

But when I'm not busy being a marketing peep, I'm a wife and mother who's on a mission to avoid vacuuming at all costs. Give me a good meal from a new restaurant, UberEats or a book to get lost in, and I am happy!

My life has been quite the rollercoaster, from dealing with the challenges of being adopted and navigating through it all (my poor husband Glen). My father Johnny (adoptive) he is my dad and the one who picked me up when I fell down throughout my life. I am so lucky to have him and my mother.

In 2006, Dad was given 6 months to live after being diagnosed with Melanoma. My husband and I rescheduled the wedding to make it happen in 4 weeks in between dad’s treatment. It was the most amazing day albeit the bloody sun turned it on to 42 degrees. I am grateful that my dad walked me down the aisle and that he was at my side. It’s a memory and a super important one to keep banked. Dad passed away in June that year and it left a big hole in my heart. There were over 1,000 people who attended his funeral which is a testament to the awesome man that he was and it still breaks my heart. #johnnymac

Then two years later I had a premature child, Mac at 29 weeks (3 months early) and he is the sunshine and laughter of our life. He is loud like me, now 14 and 6”2 and we all as a family share a unique bond. On Mac’s birthday 5 years ago, I was to discover my biological roots through DNA testing. As it turns out, my birth father was a former Melbourne Football player, and I've been on a huge journey of discovery ever since. I have my beautiful husband, our son, my mother, a bio neph and two awesome bio cousins who support me #blessed. What I have learned is that ‘if you walk in my door, you are accepted without judgment’. And, just ‘Be Kind’!

Currently, I'm the Senior Marketing Manager of a menopausal brand and also handling content management for various other brands. What an adventure it has been and I am sure as hell grateful about it!
