Frequently Asked Questions
Not sure what you need? That’s okay. Tell me what’s going on and we’ll work it out together.
-
Your brand assets (logo, colours, fonts, existing brand guidelines if you have them).
Your goals and what you're trying to build.
Your preferences and anything you want to avoid. Honest feedback throughout the process is greatly appreciated.
You don't need to have it all figured out. I help you get clear. But I need you to be open, honest, and willing to collaborate.
-
Yes. Always. Before we start any project, I create a clear Statement of Work (SOW) that outlines what you're getting, the timeline, the investment, and how we work together. Everything is documented so there's no confusion.
If someone's not willing to provide a Statement of Work, that's a red flag. It means they may not be clear on what they're delivering. Avoid that.
-
Yes. I work with established brands and startups. The approach is the same. I listen. I understand your goals. I create a strategy that works for where you're at.
Early-stage brands often need clarity first (who are you, what's your message?).
Established brands often need consistency and scale. Both matter. Both work.
-
Absolutely. You might just need a logo.
Or a social media strategy. Or website updates.I work with you on whatever you need. You don't have to hire me for everything.
That said, the best results come from strategic thinking across all areas. A great logo without aligned social media content doesn't do much. Strong social media without a clear website can confuse people.
The best approach is to look at the whole picture. We can also start small if that's what works for you.
-
You have a voice in everything. You approve content before it goes live. If something doesn't feel right, I will fix it.
My job is to guide you and create things that work. Your job is to give honest feedback. I'll advise if I think something needs to be different. I'll explain why. But ultimately, it's your brand. If you hate it, we change it.
*One round of revisions is included in all projects. Additional changes are available at agreed rates.
-
We talk about it. We figure out what's not working. We fix it. I stand behind my work. If something isn't right, we make it right. That's how I work.
*One round of revisions is included in all projects. Additional changes are available at agreed rates.

Any business. Any industry. Any stage. Established brands and startups. Early-stage and ready to scale. I take on all of it because I understand businesses and where they need to grow.
What matters is that you're focused on clear branding and effective marketing. If that's your goal, we can work together.
I'm adaptable in how we work together. Projects can be a focused day (minimum 4 hours) or ongoing weekly support. Whatever suits your needs and timeline.
-
No. When you work with me, you get me. I don't outsource to virtual assistants or other marketing companies.
You get direct access to someone with 20+ years of experience building brands and creating marketing that works.
That said, I'm happy to work alongside your existing team. If you have an in-house designer, social media person, or developer, we can collaborate. I'll communicate with them, align on strategy, and make sure everything works together. Your team brings value. We can work in sync.
-
I work fast. Not because I rush. Because I have 20+ years of experience and understand exactly what needs to happen next.
I've worked on national brands. I've won awards. I understand strategy, design, and marketing at a deep level.
That experience means I don't waste time. I move quickly. How fast depends on the project scope. We agree on timelines, so you always know what to expect.
-
You pay for what you get. You're paying for 20+ years of experience. You're paying for someone who's worked on award-winning brands. You're paying for strategy that works, not templates. You're paying for direct access to me, not a junior assistant or a team that has been outsourced to another company.
I've seen what happens when businesses try to cut corners on marketing. Some waste money on cheap design that doesn't work. Some hire inexperienced people who don't deliver. You end up paying more in the long run because you have to fix everything.
When you work with me, you get it right the first time. That's worth paying for!
-
No. But I can tell you why paying my rate is the right decision.
I don't compete on price. I compete on quality, strategy, and results.
If price is the main factor, I'm probably not the right fit. And that's okay.
But if you want marketing that actually works. If you want someone who's been doing this for over two decades. If you want direct access to award-winning strategy and creative thinking. Then my rate is more than fair.
You get what you pay for. Always.
-
We talk about your business, your goals, and what you're trying to build. I listen. I ask questions. I understand where you're at.
Then I give you my honest opinion on what you need and how I can help. Sometimes that's a full-service package. Sometimes it's one focused area. Sometimes I recommend you focus on something different than what you thought.
The point is clarity. You leave the call knowing exactly what you need and what the next step is. No pressure. No sales pitch. Just honest guidance.
-
I aim to respond within 24 hours. Sometimes faster. I communicate via email, phone, or message. I keep things simple and clear.
You always know where things stand.
-
No problem. It's covered in the Statement of Work. You know the terms upfront. No surprises. No hidden conditions.
If things aren't working, we end the relationship on clear terms that protect both of us.
-
Yes. Many of my clients work with me over the long term. I can handle ongoing social media management, email campaigns, website updates, content creation, strategy, or just strategic guidance.
Ongoing support keeps your marketing consistent. It keeps your brand aligned.
It helps you stay focused on the bigger picture while I handle the details.
-
AI is a useful tool. I use it. Most good marketers do. But there's a very fine line between smart AI use and careless AI use. Your customers pick up on it, especially Digital Natives (kids who've grown up surrounded by phones, social media, algorithms, filters, edited content, and now AI). They recognise generic AI-written content. They see AI graphics that don't match your brand. They sense when something doesn't fit.
Smart AI use is behind the scenes. It supports the work. It doesn't replace thinking or strategy. It can speed up some processes.
Careless AI use shows up front and centre with your customers. Generic. Flat. It can damage trust.
-
It depends on the scope. A logo might take 2 weeks from brief to approval. A website refresh might take 4 to 8 weeks. Social media is ongoing. Email campaigns depend on your goals and timelines.
We agree on a timeline upfront, and I'll give you a realistic estimate. I work fast, but not faster than quality allows.
-
If you have other questions or want to discuss your project, reach out and let's talk. I offer a free chat to understand your goals and discuss some next steps.
It takes about 30 minutes. No pressure. No sales pitch. Just honest guidance.
THE ULTIMATE ADVICE

THE ULTIMATE ADVICE •
HOW TO FIND A MARKETER YOU CAN TRUST?
Here's some advice for selecting the right marketer for your brand:):
NO STATEMENT OF WORK: If there's nothing in writing, walk away. You need to know what you're paying for, when you'll get it, and what happens if things change. A Statement of Work (SOW) protects both of us. It protects your money, your timeline, and your expectations. No guessing.
INEXPERIENCED PEOPLE CHARGING EXPERIENCED RATES: Experience matters. There's a difference between someone who's been doing this for 5 years and someone who's been doing it for over 20 years. Ask about their background. Ask for examples of work. Don't assume years in business means expertise.
PEOPLE WHO OUTSOURCE WITHOUT TELLING YOU: If you think you're hiring the owner and you're actually getting outsourced work, that's a problem. Ask directly. If they don't tell you upfront, that's a red flag. Then get it in writing!
PEOPLE WHO DON'T SPECIALISE: Marketing is broad. Someone good at social media might not be good at website design. Someone good at design might not understand email automation. Good marketers know their strengths and where they need help.
PEOPLE WHO DON'T RESEARCH YOUR BRAND: The best marketing starts with understanding your brand. If someone hasn’t researched your brand before you meet, then that's a red flag.
PEOPLE WHO RUSH: Good work takes time. Not a lot of time if you're experienced. But it takes some. If someone promises absolutely everything in two days, be sceptical.
PEOPLE WHO CAN'T SHOW RESULTS: Ask for examples. Ask for case studies. Ask what they've delivered for other clients. If they can't show you results, that's telling.
NO COMMUNICATION PLAN: You should know how often they'll communicate with you, how you'll give feedback, and when you'll see updates. If that's vague, it's a red flag.
PEOPLE WHO PRESSURE YOU: Real marketers don't need to pressure you. They're busy, your busy. They filter for clients who are ready to work. If someone's pushing hard to get you to sign, that's a red flag.
AI TOOLS AND HIDDEN COSTS: AI tools can speed things up, which is good for you. But don't pay premium rates for work that AI handled quickly. Ask what tools are being used. Ask for time breakdowns. Transparency matters.
UNDERSTAND YOUR PROJECT TIMELINE: Ask for clarity on how time is allocated to your project. Weekly timesheets (provided with invoices) that show what work took how long matter. They help you understand the investment and what you're paying for. Reputable marketers are transparent about this. If someone can't explain where their time went, that's a red flag.
WHO OWNS MY WEBSITE AND ACCOUNTS: You do. Always. Your website, your social media accounts, your email marketing platform, your domain, your content. Everything you pay for belongs to you.
Here's what this means in practice: Your website should be registered in your name or business name. Not your marketer's name. You should have admin access. If I update your site, you're in control.
Your social media accounts should be registered with your email and phone number. I can manage them for you, but you own them. You need to be able to access them anytime.
Your email marketing platform (Klaviyo, MailChimp, etc.) is in your account. You own the list. You own the data. You own the campaigns.
You're logged in as the owner of your business, not your marketer. If something happens to that relationship, you still have full access to everything. I have personally seen this breakup end badly.
At Miss Brooke, passwords and logins are shared carefully and securely. Miss Brooke uses secure methods (password managers). You retain control.
Why does this all matter? If you hand over passwords or login credentials, you're vulnerable. Your marketer could hold your business hostage. They could lock you out. You could lose years of data. Your business could disappear overnight. A good marketer protects your assets and keeps you in control. Always.
